CARP 274 - Blueprint Reading and Work In Layout


Credits: 6
Course work includes: layout of building, roof framing, and use of level and transit will be covered. Estimating materials for site, study of concrete types and their importance in the trade, and types of fasteners and their uses.
Course Outcomes:
  1. Recognize a safe and professional construction environment.
  2. Explains how supervisors guide work of others.
  3. Justify orientation of a building on the lot.
  4. Measure foundation walls, floor joists, and interior/exterior walls.
  5. Assess the placement of building walls for roof trusses, framing, and sheeting.
  6. Interpret blueprints used for the on-site building.
