AGSC 113 - Cultivated Plants

Provides a practical understanding of plant anatomy, morphology, and growth of agriculture crops.
Course Outcomes:
 
  1. Identify the root, shoot, leaf, and reproductive portions of plants and describe their functions.
  2. Differentiate between root, shoot, leaf, and reproductive portions of monocots and dicots.
  3. Distinguish between vascular and non-vascular plant forms.
  4. Explain and illustrate vascular function in plants.
  5. Analyze structure, position, and significance of stomata in plants.
  6. Compare seedling germination and emergence in plants and their morphological features.
  7. Correctly identify unknown plant species using a dichotomous key.
  8. Determine the ecological impacts of plants in agricultural and natural resource settings based on morphological and anatomical characteristics.
