ART 101 - Drawing I


Credits: 5
Introductory course which explores the basic techniques of drawing using a variety of media such as charcoal, pen and ink, oil pastel, and mixed media. Appreciation and study of drawings by major artists are also included. Daily assignments and lab hours required. Materials to be purchased.
Course Outcomes:
  1. Demonstrate increased hand and eye coordination.
  2. Explain and apply major terms, vocabulary, methods, concepts, and theories relevant to drawing.
  3. Use tools and materials proficiently.
  4. Experiment with a variety of techniques.
  5. Construct drawings from observation and imagination.
  6. Demonstrate ethical and responsible use of media and information.
