BUS 288 - Marketing Project


Credits: 1-5
Students create an original user-focused, responsive website for a project of their choice executing a focused business strategy with clear, measurable objectives. During the development process, students conceive, research, plan and implement the website applying skills and aptitudes attained throughout their studies. The website meets specific criteria for number of pages, function, responsiveness, efficient and intuitive navigation, cohesive styling and use of appropriate HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Students conduct a feedback process, incorporate improvements based on user-testing and surveys, then launch the website to a server. 
Course Outcomes:
 

  1. Select a potential website idea based on analysis of business opportunities.
  2. Create customer personae to guide content and design decisions.
  3. Plan the website by constructing mood-boards, style-tiles, site maps, wireframes and mockups.
  4. Create a master schedule incorporating processes and milestones using Gantt charts and scheduling software.
  5. Build the website, coding webpages through utilization of applications, coding technologies and workflow tools from previous courses
  6. Employ an iterative process by conducting focus groups for early and late website builds with instructor and users then incorporating usability improvements identified through the feedback.
  7. Launch website after having refined, tested, and presented same to stakeholders.
