CNC 106 - Haas CNC Set-Up and Operations II

Work on projects using the CNC to demonstrate skills related to set-up and operation. In this course, students further build skill and knowledge in Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) technology operations. The course emphasizes CNC turning and milling operations. Students will perform projects using the CNC to demonstrate skills related to setup and operation.
Prerequisite(s): Grade of C- or better in CNC 105  or Instructor Permission
Course Outcomes:
  • Demonstrate that you will be able to articulate the operation of the machine in safe mode before running your part.
  • Demonstrate and identify the critical check points for safe operation of a CNC machining center.
  • Demonstrate how to position parts in the precision vise and identify safety procedures that need to be taken to ensure safe operations.
  • Demonstrate to the instructor all the steps from tool set up to finishing a complete part.
