ART 169 - Sculpture III

A continuation of the theory and application of three-dimensional forms in space using a variety of media such as clay, plaster, wire, steel assemblage, and bronze.
Prerequisite(s): A grade of C or higher in ART 168 .
Course Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Demonstrate an advanced proficiency in and create works using basic sculpture materials in order to improve technique.
  • Develop a visual language as it pertains to sculpture in order to enhance the expression of ideas.
  • Explore the historical context and evolutions of the art making processes in order to better understand visual mediums.
  • Identify their own creative processes and their relationship to the environment to improve sustainability in self-expression.

  • Acrylic painting techniques

  • Painting from observation

  • Famous artists and the history of painting
