CAP 057 - Introduction to Career Pathways Credits: 1-2.5 LEC hours per week: 2.5 This course introduces students to the opportunities for advancing their education and career skills through various pathways offered at WWCC. Emphasis is placed on understanding program requirements and financial planning. Credit can be earned for only one of these courses: CAP 057 or HSC 057 . Course Outcomes: Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify pathways available at WWCC.
- Evaluate pathways related to career and technical education.
- Identify acceptance requirements for programs of interest.
- Evaluate their own educational and career interests, areas of strengths, and growth opportunities.
- Design individualized education plans related to their interests and goals.
- Develop financial plans to meet the educational costs for a chosen pathway or program.
Course Topics: The following pathways, including degrees and certificates and financial planning, will be explored:
- Agriculture and Natural Resources
- Arts, Humanities, and Communications
- Business and Consumer Services
- Education and Social Sciences
- Healthcare and Emergency Services
- Manufacturing, Electrical, and Transportation
- Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math
