AUDIO 111 - Audio Recording I

This course introduces students to how audio is routed and processed, with a focus on audio signal flow. Students learn what features distinguish various types of microphones and how to select the best microphone for each source, factoring in frequency response and characteristics such as phantom power requirements. Course topics also include preamplifiers, direct (DI) boxes, and analog-to-digital converters. Students learn and practice basic audio console functions and begin building their microphone book.
