This is part two of an algebra-based physics sequence intended for non-physical science majors. Topics include mechanical properties of matter, behavior of fluids, harmonic motion and waves, basic thermodynamics, and an introduction to electricity. Lab work required. Formerly: PHYS 122.
Prerequisite(s): Grade of C or higher in PHYS& 114.
Course Outcomes:

Describe the behaviors of fluids under the influence of changes in pressure, temperature and mechanical forces.
Apply knowledge of vibrational energy to sound and human hearing.
Explain the transfer of thermal energy as it relates to changes in temperature, state of materials, and work done by heat engines
Describe the underlying properties of an electric field and the forces created by electric charge distributions.
Solve quantitative problems related to related to fluids, thermal energy, vibrational motion, and effects of electric charge distributions using algebra and trigonometry.
Design and carry out laboratory experiments that relate to fluids, thermal energy, vibrational motion, and effects of electric charge distributions
