AGSC 215 - Field Crop Production Credits: 5 LEC hours per week: 5 Production and management of field crops designed to provide the most current information in the production and management of agronomic crops important to the economy of the Pacific Northwest. Formerly: AGPR 215. Course Outcomes:
- Visually identify commonly produced crops of the Pacific Northwest.
- Choose and justify the use of specific fertilizers and pesticides for a given crop production system.
- List and discuss the use of equipment common to planting, cultivating, and harvesting common crops of the Pacific Northwest.
- Analyze crop growth stages and grading standards.
- Assess and justify production patterns of major crops.
- Construct a crop production plan which describes cultural practices, production management, pest management, marketing, storage, and use.
- Recognize the purpose of crop improvement systems.
