AHSE 191 - Success Strategies for Healthcare Credits: 1 LEC hours per week: 1 Using Nursing as an exemplar, this course is designed to empower students to actively prepare for success in a healthcare education program. The emphasis of the course will be on the application of critical thinking strategies, the Nursing Process, and test-taking techniques. The course includes an overview of learning and motivation theories and of priority setting frameworks. Each student will create a study plan that fits their learning style. Formerly: HO 191. Course Outcomes:
- Evaluate personal learning styles and study techniques.
- Develop an individual learning/study plan based on personal strengths and weaknesses.
- Select nursing computer applications that enhance a learning/study plan.
- Analyze various nursing scenarios using critical thinking strategies.
- Prioritize nursing process steps for various clinical scenarios.
