Introduction to the study of anthropology and various cultures around the world. Provides a brief study of the four main subfields of anthropology: Biological Anthropology, Archaeology, Cultural Anthropology, and Linguistics. Formerly: ANTH 101.
Course Outcomes:

Articulate an understanding of the broad field of anthropology through its four major subfields: physical anthropology, archaeology, cultural anthropology, and linguistic anthropology.
Explain the relevance of the anthropological perspective to global issues and cultural diversity.
Compare multiple cultures in detail to gain an enhanced understanding of human diversity.
Apply anthropological research to articulate well-supported positions on anthropological controversies in popular culture.
