CJ 303 - Legal Research Credits: 5 LEC hours per week: 5 This course provides an introduction to legal research and writing with emphasis on the identification and analysis of legal problems utilizing primary and secondary resources. Students are expected to compose a variety of written forms that adhere to the conventions of the legal profession. This course is for students enrolled in the Bachelor of Applied Science Program. Course Outcomes:
- Analyze and summarization case law decisions.
- Use computer-assisted legal research programs.
- Utilize Shepardizing to validate research.
- Recognize distinction between relevant facts from legally unimportant facts.
- Apply legal writing skills by preparing memoranda and legal citation.
