This course provides an introduction to legal research and writing with emphasis on the identification and analysis of legal problems utilizing primary and secondary resources. Students are expected to compose a variety of written forms that adhere to the conventions of the legal profession. This course is for students enrolled in the Bachelor of Applied Science Program.
Course Outcomes:

Analyze and summarization case law decisions.
Use computer-assisted legal research programs.
Utilize Shepardizing to validate research.
Recognize distinction between relevant facts from legally unimportant facts.
Apply legal writing skills by preparing memoranda and legal citation.
