DT 181 - Engines I

In-depth study of diesel engines, including theory of operation, testing and rebuilding. Students must be seeking a certificate or degree in Diesel Technology.
Course Outcomes:
  • Apply theoretical fundamentals of internal combustion engines to maintain, repair, and overhaul projects.
  • Use common shop tools and equipment necessary to rebuild engines.
  • Apply specific skills in the maintenance, repair, and rebuilding of engines.
  • Analyze premature failure problems
  • Evaluate personal progress on the NATEF task list.
