DT 181 - Engines I Credits: 1-14 LEC hours per week: 8 LAB hours per week: 12 In-depth study of diesel engines, including theory of operation, testing and rebuilding. Students must be seeking a certificate or degree in Diesel Technology. Course Outcomes:
- Apply theoretical fundamentals of internal combustion engines to maintain, repair, and overhaul projects.
- Use common shop tools and equipment necessary to rebuild engines.
- Apply specific skills in the maintenance, repair, and rebuilding of engines.
- Analyze premature failure problems
- Evaluate personal progress on the NATEF task list.
