ELA 092 - ELA Health & Fitness Credits: 5 LEC hours per week: 5 This course allows students to enhance physical fitness, develop lifelong skills through fitness activities and introduce students to assessment tools used to develop lifelong exercise habits. Course Outcomes:
- Demonstrate competency in a variety of motor skills and movement patterns.
- Apply knowledge of concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics related to movement and performance.
- Demonstrate the skills to achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical activity and fitness.
- Exhibit responsible personal and social behavior that respects self and others.
- Explain the value of physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression and social interaction.
- Explain concepts related to health promotion and disease prevention to enhance health.
- Analyze the influence of family, peers, culture, media, technology, and other factors on health behaviors.
