EST 270 - Wind Power Plan Operations and Advanced Mech Sys Credits: 5 LEC hours per week: 4 LAB hours per week: 2 This course is an introduction to various fundamentals of the Wind Power Plant Operations, including daily routines, process and paperwork, management styles, and customer service skills. It will also cover wind turbine troubleshooting, and advanced/large mechanical systems repair. Course Outcomes:
- Describe the daily operations of the power plant.
- Explain the parts check out/return process.
- Analyze employee best practices for plant operations.
- Describe how daily operations affect the business overall.
- Examine policies and procedures for the various environmental issues.
- Explain the importance of customer service.
- Appraise and assess faulted wind turbines.
- Formulate a repair strategy for advanced/large mechanical systems.
