GIS 152 - Practical Agricultural Application of GIS

Instruction in advanced topics of GIS with an emphasis on agricultural systems. Emphasis includes geo-spatial analysis, creation and use of geo-databases, geo-referencing, digital elevation models, aerial data, and using ESRI ArcGIS for Desktop software. Formerly: CET 251 and ENT 152.
Prerequisite(s): Grade of C or higher in GIS 151  or instructor permission.
Course Outcomes:
  • Create and evaluate soil sample maps.
  • Map farm yield management zones.
  • Georeference photogrammetric images.
  • Analyze multispectral images to determine crop health.
  • Develop fertilizer prescriptions.
