HPER 190 - Basic Fitness III Credits: 1 LAB hours per week: 2 This activity course will emphasize the practice of basic fitness. Prerequisite(s): Grade of D or higher in HPER 188 and HPER 189 . Course Outcomes:
- Calculate target heart rate and demonstrate use during exercise.
- Demonstrate proper equipment usage, various forms of exercise, and general safety principles.
- Utilize apps and other online fitness tools to report workout hours.
- Measure changes in body composition, strength, and aerobic capacity.
- Demonstrate progressive incresae in workload.
- Demonsrate progress in reaching goals outlined in a customized workout plan.
