HPER 166 - Yoga I Credits: 1 LEC hours per week: 1 This course will explore the theory, knowledge, research, and discussions exploring general yoga principles and lifetime fitness. The workout component will be in the concurrently enrolled HPER 167 class. Corequisite(s): Students must enroll in both HPER 166 and HPER 167 Course Outcomes:
- Summarize the history of yoga and its correlation to modern day theory and practices.
- Correlate yoga movement with affected muscle groups.
- Outline yoga techniques and practices in relation to stress management.
- Explain the lifetime fitness value of yoga.
- Design a customized yoga workout plan.
