HPER 105 - Jogging Credits: 1 LEC hours per week: 0.500 LAB hours per week: 1.500 This course will explore the theory, knowledge, and practical experience in the principles of jogging and its relationship to lifetime fitness. Course Outcomes:
- Calculate target heart rate and demonstrate its use in assessing walking and/or jogging intensity.
- Practice proper jogging body mechanics.
- Design an individual workout plan with strategic design and attainable goals.
- Identify the benefits of proper exercise methods, warm up and cool down techniques, stretching techniques, and safety.
- Demonstrate progressive increase in workload.
- Practice concepts associated with general fitness, cardiovascular improvement, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, stress reduction, and safety.

- Calculate target heart rate

- Overload principle and workout progressions
- Development of an individual workout plan
