IRR 112 - Irrigation Principles Credits: 5 LEC hours per week: 5 Overview of the elements of irrigation and its industry. Topics include irrigation methods, efficiencies, equipment, and their relationships to soils and plants. Formerly: WGMT 112 and WTM 112. Course Outcomes:
- Identify irrigation system components.
- Identify irrigation system types.
- Explain the installation, operation, basic maintenance, and costs of types of irrigation systems.
- Describe the impacts of water quality and supply on irrigation system selection, operation and efficiency.
- Describe environmental control strategies implemented using irrigation systems.
- Describe an electrical layout for an irrigation system
- Analyze irrigation methods for best selection and use.
- Devise an irrigation scheduling program using the principles of plant-soil-water relationships.
