JD 131 - John Deere Engine Testing, Repair, and Performan

Provides basic physical principles, operation, and construction of two- and four- stroke cycle engines. Topics include disassembly, inspection, measurement, reassembly, and adjustments to engine components. Formerly: JD 110, JD 130 and JD 135.
Course Outcomes:

Explain operation of John Deere engines.
Identify engine lubricants, lubrication systems, cooling systems, and intake and exhaust systems.
Disassemble and reassemble an engine using recommended procedures.
Test for proper engine performance using a dynamometer.
Communicate the complaint, the cause, and the action taken to correct the problem.
Use software applications and technical equipment appropriate for task.
Exhibit professionalism as listed in “Guidelines to Success” policies.
