JD 125 - John Deere Fuel and Emissions Systems Credits: 4 LEC hours per week: 2 LAB hours per week: 4 Theory, operation, testing, and repair methods for spark ignition and compression ignition fuel systems are explored. Topics include relationship of valve timing, ignition, and injection timing to normal combustion. Theory, operation and maintenance of emission systems are explored and demonstrated. Course Outcomes:
- Diagnose, repair, and adjust John Deere fuel and/or emission systems.
- Disassemble and reassemble fuel and/or emission system components.
- Describe the operation of various types of fuel and emission systems.
- Explain the legal limitations as applied to fuel system repair.
- Communicate the complaint, the cause, and the action taken to correct the problem.
- Use software applications and technical equipment appropriate for task.
- Exhibit professionalism as listed in “Guidelines to Success” policies.
