JD 115 - John Deere Electrical

Provides basic electrical principles and applications of magnetism, electromagnetism, and the safe utilization of electrical test meters. Principles of operation, testing and repair of ignition systems, cranking systems, and charging systems are demonstrated and practiced.
Course Outcomes:
 

  • Explain the theory of operation of electrical and electronic systems used on John Deere equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic system problems.
  • Measure performance in an electrical system using a volt, Ohm, and amp meter.
  • Interpret the symbols on an I.S.O. electrical diagram and locate the components on equipment.
  • Communicate the complaint, the cause, and the action taken to correct the problem.
  • Use software applications and technical equipment appropriate for task.
  • Exhibit professionalism as listed in “Guidelines to Success” policies.
