MATH& 153 is the third in a sequence of four calculus courses for students who are planning to major in engineering, mathematics, or the sciences. Graphical analysis of concepts is emphasized through the use of technology. Formerly: MATH 126.
Prerequisite(s): Grade of C- or higher in MATH& 152, satisfactory placement, or permission of Mathematics Department
Course Outcomes:

Determine the convergence or divergence of a sequence numerically, graphically, and analytically and, if the sequence converges, find its limit.
Determine the absolute or conditional convergence or divergence of an infinite series using relevant tests including the divergence, geometric series, integral, p-series, comparison, limit comparison, alternating series, ratio, and root tests.
Construct power series representations of function and determine the corresponding interval of convergence; use power series to calculate limits, derivatives, and integrals of functions.
Apply calculus to polar and parametric equations.
Perform vector operations on two- and three-dimensional vectors.
Graph and use calculus to analyze both two and three-dimensional vector-valued functions.
Access and use technology as needed.
Communicate mathematics using relevant vocabulary and notation.
