PSYC 140 - Career and Education Planning

This course will provide students with the opportunity to explore education and career identity development. Readings, assessments, and applying theory to self and others will promote self-understanding and connect the implications of motivation, decision making, self-efficacy, the work we do, and the sense of community we experience. Formerly: PSY 140.
Recommended: ENGL 077 and READ 088. 
Course Outcomes:
  • Define and explain terminology related to career development theory.
  • Assess motivational style and decision-making readiness model and relate them to self and others.
  • Analyze the relationship between personal, environmental, and societal factors that influence educational and career pathways.
  • Apply theories of career developent and individual differences in a variety of environments and situations.
