PSYC 140 - Career and Education Planning Credits: 3 LEC hours per week: 3 This course will provide students with the opportunity to explore education and career identity development. Readings, assessments, and applying theory to self and others will promote self-understanding and connect the implications of motivation, decision making, self-efficacy, the work we do, and the sense of community we experience. Formerly: PSY 140. Recommended: ENGL 077 and READ 088. Course Outcomes:
- Define and explain terminology related to career development theory.
- Assess motivational style and decision-making readiness model and relate them to self and others.
- Analyze the relationship between personal, environmental, and societal factors that influence educational and career pathways.
- Apply theories of career developent and individual differences in a variety of environments and situations.
