Study of origins and characteristics of maladaptive behavior with emphasis on scientific research on the causes and treatment approaches to psychological disorders. Formerly: PSY 250.
Prerequisite(s): Grade of C or higher in PSYC& 100 .
Course Outcomes:
  • Compare and contrast current biological, psychological and psychosocial explanations of mental illness.
  • Explain the terminology of disorders as well as the diagnostic features of disorders in the DSM-5-TR
  • Treatment models for psychological disorder
